Developer log 10: Into the deep


This week was the last week of polishing the game. We worked our asses off to make the game as good as possible for you guys to enjoy! Here are all the things we tweaked/added.

Online leaderboard

The leaderboard in the game is now stored online, so you can now compete against anyone who played the game. Who will claim the highest spot on the leaderboard and become invincible? But dont worry, only your best score will be saved!


Player options

In the options menu you will find several options like adjusting sound volumes and controller vibrations, these settings will now be saved even after closing the game.


Tutorial

When you play the game for the first time there are prompt messages to help the player get to know the controls. After you are past these messages they will not show up again, even after restarting the game.

Controller vibrations

After getting hit or hitting an enemy you feel your controller rumble. this adds an extra dimension to the game and makes it even more satisfying to kill the enemies.

Name generation

After finishing you no longer have to choose a random name, now you can enter five letters that will appear on the leaderboard. The option for a random letter combination is still available in case you are in a lazy mood.


improved player animations and vfx

The animations of the player are finally on point. the timings are right and they all look very good. There are also some extra vfx that are added like the speed vfx to emphasize how fast the player is going and many more.



General fixes

And ofcourse because it is the last week we will be working on this game we did a lot of bug fixing and tweaking some values to make the game as good as possible.

Now that our game is published we hope that you enjoy playing the game as much as we enjoyed making it.We learned a lot from this project and we are very excited for future projects!
