Developer log 7: Start sprint 2 week 2


This week of production was interupted by the easter holiday, so now we are fully rested and ready to get back to work! This is the work we have done during the past 3 weeks.

New features

Time on the HUD

The timer is now visible on the HUD, if you look in the right top corner you will see the timer run while you are playing.

Interactions

There is now interaction between the player and both enemies, you can hit the enemies with all the attacks and the enemy will react to that. You can take damage as well and you also react to getting hit by the enemies.

Stomp

Our stomp mechanic could be abused so we decided to make it less spamable. How did we achieve this you might think, we decided that it was not possible to stomp at a height lower than the max jumpheight. So you will need to stand on something and jump of off it to be able to stomp.

Main Menu

Our artists made a beautiful main menu that is now in our game.

Visuals

back and foreground

The back and foreground are there to give a more perspective feeling, so it really feels like you are are surrounded by plants.

Animations

There are some new fresh animations added to the enemies and the player, although they are not final and might need some tweaks here is a peak a the animations

Firefly

The firefly is coming alive with some new animations! He has a flying, shooting, hit and death animation which makes him come alive. He also rotates to the direction he is flying to.

CockRoach

The cockroach also has a set of new animations. He has a walking, hit, punch and death animation. Now you are able to see his fighting skills in all of its glory.

Player

We made our player even more badass by adding a new jump animation and a suiting landing animation so he won't hurt his knees ;). While stomping he cannonballs downwards to gain as much power as he can to stomp the enemies.
